The Beauty Created From Physical Pain - Angel Arts Creates

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in arts but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Searra Vinnett, Owner of Angel Arts Creates, LLC., located in Chicago, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Angel Arts Creates is a business that uses abstract visual arts to show the unique beauty of being you. I take my art forms and turn my physical pain into images of beauty that we all view in our own way.

Tell us about yourself

Honestly, what got me started was chronic pain. My art started as an alternative to pain pills, and it helped me deliver so many powerful messages to the world. Then I thought about how good I felt and how good I could make others feel just by looking at a piece of art and title. It's been amazing to see how my work moves others. The solo exhibitions, group shows, and auctions have been great. Now all I need is a gallery space of my own to do more with my community of children who feel they have no voice like I did. We all struggle with something but pain can become something beautiful with just a little bit of work. I've been painting since late 2015, and it's been a wonderful journey.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to raise the levels of confidence and individuality of urban youth through forms of art. It gives the children a voice that is mostly ignored by adults. Everyone needs to be heard, and I want them to know that their voice matters.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Really my health because seizures cause me to have short-term memory, so keeping all the business items in order is really my biggest struggle.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Never be afraid to share your idea just because it's been done before. You won't know the outcome unless you try. And a slow start is not a failure but a lesson.
