What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a consultant in online educational resources and social media marketing. I help clients maximize their use of social media and other online resources to educate and inspire their clientele.
Tell us about yourself
I started off as a social media marketing trainer and realized many of my students needed someone to do it for them. Voila, I decided to become the one that can teach and do! I am also an educator at heart, and I realize the future of learning is online, so I am setting up digital tools to help people learn from wherever they are.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Landing and keeping my first and highest paying client and building a social media app for the African community come in a very close second.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Everything is on you. You have to build all the departments, keep them alive, and grow them, all while focusing on your own expertise area.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Plan wisely and plan well.
- Start... don't wait for perfect conditions. The lessons you'll learn in the first year's failures are the most valuable success tools.
- Have fun. Enjoy what you do, and it won't feel like work.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step. So start! Consistency is more important than creativity. Keep going no matter how it looks, feels, or seems, and you'll soon get there.
