What's your business, and who are your customers?

I mainly tutor post-secondary and adult students in Math and English.

Tell us about yourself

I began tutoring in high school and soon learned that it was something I would love to do for a living one day. I am motivated by the desire to give back to others since so many people helped me to attain my education.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think my biggest accomplishment has been to have the faith to step out on my own as an independent contractor after working 18 years for someone else.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The biggest challenge of being self-employed is that you have to wear the hat of employer and employee, which comes with a lot of responsibilities, both financial and otherwise.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top three tips for entrepreneurs are to find something you love to do, something you can do, and something that you can do well.
