Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in jewelries but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Analucia Beltran, founder and designer of Beltran Enterprises Inc., located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Analucia Beltran Diamonds is a celebration of the hard work that women put into their everyday lives. We are the first Designer Lab Grown Diamond brand in the world (first of its kind). Our mission as a company is to make sure that every woman in the world, some that never even dreamed of owning a diamond, is able to own it today. Real Diamonds for Real Women ™

Tell us about yourself

I was born and raised in South America, where the tradition of "owning a diamond" was a rarity and a true luxury. With that said, I first felt inspired to get into the jewelry industry because of my parents. When my dad gave my mom a diamond ring after my youngest brother was born, not only it was the first diamond piece that my mom got from my dad ever (after 15 years of marriage with a lot of hard work behind to be able to afford it), but most importantly the love and meaning behind this ring and what it represented for my parents and the powerful effect it had on my mom's reaction to it, tears of joy and happiness when receiving it, I will never forget.

After being over 12 years in the diamond industry myself, I have gone from working on Cruise Ships as a Shopping Presenter to working jewelry retails one on one, to corporate training for a large jewelry company in the US and Canada, to hosting countless Designer events and my favourite, selling diamonds and fine jewelry on television in the US, Canada, and Australia, to finally being able to found my own Diamond Company, this time as a Designer and proudly using exclusively Lab Grown Diamonds which are environmentally friendly, the diamond of the future and at a much more attainable price than traditional mined natural diamonds, thanks to the power of technology.

My motivation is to innovate and have a global impact in this industry that is changing tremendously, using diamonds in a way that has never been presented before.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

To have gathered a second to none team of professionals working with us as our core team, the company started with me alone and has in just under a year. A half in business gathered some of the most brilliant minds working with us that share the same vision. Also, seeing the brand being recognized internationally, the demand is slowly yet surely growing into global strategic expansion.

It is a wonderful feeling, also seeing the finished jewelry every day being purchased and owned by different women from different backgrounds that enjoy and wear our designs is very fulfilling and the reason I do everything I do, with that end goal.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a full-time entrepreneur, one of the biggest challenges was to be able to launch last year, during the pandemic, being "all in" into the business wasn't easy, to keep a straight vision in the middle of absolute uncertainty in these "unprecedented events" and continue despite the hard times.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Making a "Real Decision" when choosing to start a business.
  2. Devoted commitment to it, realizing of the sacrifices that will be involved in creating a company from the ground and making a living of it.
  3. Failure is not an option mindset, willing to work harder and smarter than anyone else in the same category.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Indeed, being able to stay true to your vision, yet finding the blissful point of "openness" for improvement or change when needed, always trusting your intuition, gut feeling.
