Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ana Chaverra, Founder of Live the Life You've Imagined, located in Houston, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is one-on-one coaching on Life, Self-love, Emotional Intelligence, and Leadership coaching for tweens, teens, and young adults.

Tell us about yourself

I first started working on coaching for business and women; however, I understood that my stronger suits were life, self-love, and emotional intelligence, so I started directing my coaching toward a younger demographic since it is in our earlier years that we need to understand how to emotionally regulate ourselves and give ourselves love and care so that it can develop naturally into our adulthood. I am motivated every day by life itself and being able to wake up and send a loving message to someone in order for them to understand themselves better, learn how to move on from a situation and start acting on the life they deserve and the love they deserve. Sometimes we all need a simple reminder on how to be our best self, and that involves receiving information or guidance on how to attain it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is understanding how to keep myself consistent to attain the results I want to see in my business.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is that you being your own boss can be very tricky and mentally exhausting. You have to know when to give yourself time to rest, to create, to work, and to push for the things you want to see grow within you and externally in your business. If you are not at your best to be your own best boss, then you need to re-evaluate if being a business owner is for you.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand yourself, love yourself, and know when to put consistency and discipline above laziness and relaxation time.
  2. Flow with life and the obstacles that can come from having your business - if there is no challenge or obstacle, then there is no growth.
  3. Enjoy every day what you do, and know that things can change from morning to night in a second.
