Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sharon Even, Founder of Amazon Alpha Coaching, located in Tel Aviv, Israel.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an Amazon Seller and Brand Owner of my own beauty, motherhood, and camping brands. In addition to managing these brands, I also offer product development services for other brands and one-on-one coaching to help other Amazon sellers establish, grow, and expand their products on and off Amazon.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been entrepreneurial. I feel that it is a part of my identity. I started my first business at the age of 15 - importing sunglasses into New Zealand and selling them online on trademe.co.nz. I started my first online clothing store at 23, and at 27 Started selling on Amazon. I realized that I have a passion for Product development, and coming from a manufacturing background (through my father), I realized that I have a skill set that I could also monetize. In 2019 I started my Youtube channel focused on content related to selling on Amazon, which then led to the demand in one on one coaching. This soon developed into me being able to fulfill my love for sourcing and developing products, plus helping others to create brands which is also an outlet for me to release my creativity. My biggest motivator on the coaching side is that I am able to:
a. Be exposed to such a large range of products. Each project is a new material I may learn about or a new form of tooling for manufacturing, and
b. The fact that I know I have an impact on my client's business journey is extremely fulfilling to me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am proud to say I have accomplished a lot of great things, but as a 34-year-old woman and mother, I am really only at the start of my journey. Knowing I helped hundreds of people start, launch and scale their brands and finding the way to give each person what they need on a one-on-one level has been very fulfilling, and I consider it a huge accomplishment.

Also, developing products that are today used by celebrities like LeBron James, Khloe Kardashian, Joe Rogan, The Rock, and many others is also something I am very proud of.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is managing and balancing multiple responsibilities and priorities, especially for me as a mother, too also balancing business and family. As a business owner, you may be responsible for managing all aspects of your business, from sales and marketing to operations and finance. This can be overwhelming at times, and it can be difficult to know where to focus your energy and attention.

Another challenge is uncertainty and risk. Starting and running a business involves taking risks and making decisions without always having all the information you need. This can be stressful and require a high level of resilience and adaptability.

Overall, being a business owner requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and resilience. While it can be challenging at times, I find it extremely rewarding and fulfilling.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Market Analysis: It's important to thoroughly research your market, competition, and target audience before starting your business. This will help you understand the needs and preferences of your customers and will allow you to create a product or service that meets those needs and stands out from the competition.
  2. Have a solid business plan: A business plan is a roadmap that outlines your business goals, target market, marketing and sales strategy, financial projections, and other important details. Having a well-crafted business plan can help you stay organized, focused, and on track as you grow your business.
  3. Be Adaptable: The business world is constantly changing, and it's important to be able to adapt and pivot as needed. Be open to new ideas, be willing to take calculated risks, and be prepared to pivot your business strategy if something isn't working.

Overall, starting and growing a business requires hard work, resilience, dedication, and a willingness to learn and adapt. By doing your research, creating a solid business plan, and being flexible and adaptable, you can set yourself up for success and build a sustainable and successful business.
