What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business, Amanda Hart Wellness, is a platform where my clients can harness the power of holistic wellness to lead healthier, more balanced lives. We focus on four crucial pillars: Fitness, Nutrition, Stress Management, and Microdosing with Psychedelics. I believe in a comprehensive approach to health that incorporates mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

My clients range from all walks of life, men and women who are ready to better themselves. They are individuals who are willing to step out of their comfort zone and put in the necessary work to achieve their wellness goals. Their dedication matches my own, and together, we work toward their self-improvement. We work together online, utilizing the digital space to break down location barriers and help them conveniently achieve their wellness goals.

There's no typical client in Amanda Hart Wellness, as our program is designed to be flexible and adaptable to every individual's unique needs and circumstances. We show up for those ready to show up for themselves, convincing them they have the power and resilience to change their lives and step into their light.

Tell us about yourself

My journey towards becoming a holistic health coach and establishing Amanda Hart Wellness was a process of self-discovery and healing. I had a challenging upbringing, growing up in a toxic, abusive household. College, for me then, was just a faraway dream. But even in the face of adversity, I held onto hope and the sheer will to better my circumstances.

When I discovered the world of wellness and holistic health, I found a new perspective on life and a new vision for myself. I fell in love with the idea that you could naturally improve your physical health and your mindset and enhance your spiritual connection through a holistic approach. I knew then that I wanted to bring this transformative discovery to others who might also be stuck in their own rut, struggling to find a way out.

While the journey to health and wellness was personal, the motivation to start my business came from a place of service to others. I realized how much of an impact a healthier lifestyle had on my confidence, my energy, and my outlook on life. I wanted to share that transformation with others. It's not just about losing weight or gaining strength - it's about waking up each day with vitality, peace, and a positive mindset.

Today, my motivation remains the same - it's my clients. Every person who is ready to take that bold step towards a healthier version of themselves fuels my passion. The transformations I've been fortunate to witness, the resilience, the determination, and the joy when they finally hit their target - it's unparalleled. It's a beautiful journey, and I am grateful every day to be part of it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One of my greatest accomplishments as a business owner is not just the growth of Amanda Hart Wellness itself but the impact we've been able to make in our clients' lives. When I started this journey, I had a vision of facilitating transformative change and helping individuals find a better, healthier version of themselves. Today, we've worked with hundreds of clients, guiding them toward healthier lifestyles and seeing them achieve their lofty, seemingly unreachable goals.

One specific instance I consider a massive achievement was when one of our long-term clients, battling a severe lack of self-esteem due to their less-than-ideal physical well-being, transitioned into being an enthusiastic, confident individual actively participating in marathons. The joyous tears in their eyes as they crossed the finish line was a moment that reaffirmed to me the importance and impact of my work.

To sum it up, the most significant accomplishment has been the ability to change lives positively. It's not about just earning profit but making a difference, instilling confidence and strength in each of our clients, and seeing them bloom into their most powerful selves. That, I believe, is the true measure of success.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the most challenging aspects of being a business owner, particularly in the health and wellness niche, is the emotional weight of dealing with people's individual struggles and stories. Many of my clients come to me against a backdrop of complex emotional and physical health issues, and it's my responsibility to guide them through the highly personal journey to self-improvement. It can be both emotionally and mentally taxing.

Another tough aspect is balancing the needs of the business with the client's needs. As a holistic health coach, I am deeply invested in my clients' well-being and progress. While caring deeply strengthens the coach-client relationship, there is a delicate line between becoming too personally involved and maintaining a professional demeanor.

Then, the standard challenges come with running a business - marketing, finances, time management, and maintaining a competitive edge in a constantly evolving industry. It's a journey loaded with obstacles but incredibly rewarding, and I wouldn't change it for anything.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Define Your Purpose and Niche: Take the time to really understand and articulate your purpose for starting a business. Find your passion and determine the specific niche or target audience you want to serve. By identifying your unique value proposition and focusing on a specific area, you can differentiate yourself from competitors and build a loyal customer base.
  2. Build a Support Network: Starting and running a business can be demanding personally and professionally. Surround yourself with a network of mentors, advisors, and like-minded individuals who can offer guidance, support, and expertise. Join industry associations, attend networking events, and engage with online communities relevant to your niche.
  3. Embrace Continuous Learning: The business landscape constantly evolves, and the key to success is adaptability and a growth mindset. Continuously invest in your personal and professional development by attending workshops, webinars, seminars, and conferences. Stay updated with industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices to stay ahead of the curve and continuously improve your skills.
