What's your business, and who are your customers?
Kenaston Common Physiotherapy has physiotherapists, massage therapists, and athletic therapists that work with you to achieve your rehabilitation goals so you can Feel Better, Move Better, and Live Better! Our therapists will begin by getting a history of your injury and then perform a thorough physical assessment to diagnose your condition and determine what you need! We offer a variety of treatment options for people of all ages and lifestyles, and your therapist will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan. Our clinic also has a well-equipped gym space to facilitate comprehensive rehabilitation.
Tell us about yourself
The clinic opened in August 2009, and we have grown with the surrounding communities over the past several years. I have been a physiotherapist for 18 years and was first interested in physiotherapy so that I could help people recover from various injuries. Having sports injuries myself that required physiotherapy allowed me to return to the things I loved, and I wanted to do the same for others. In addition, I had seen how physiotherapy helped my Grandpa, who had suffered a stroke. The goal was to create a great place for others to work and improve the health of those in the community.
We like to find out what people's true goals are, why they are coming, and help them achieve them. We like to see our patients and staff grow, and we like to celebrate their accomplishments along the way. Our amazing team of therapists and support staff enjoy what they do and have fun making a difference in people's lives. We have a relentless pursuit of outcomes, enjoy building professional relationships with our patients, and are dedicated to lifelong learning. A priority of ours is also community engagement and giving back to the community in various ways.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest accomplishment has been to have a team that has grown, supports one another, and has allowed us to provide quality care to our patients. We expanded a year ago and have additional services to further help the community.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about being a business owner is never being able to turn your mind off from the business. Even with a wonderful team, there is always worry, care, and planning that go through my mind each day.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Surround yourself with a great team, support them and make genuine connections and evaluate a consumer and employees' drive.
