What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business is private music lessons of excellent quality along with unique performance opportunities. We are also the home of our own orchestra, Pearland Youth Orchestra.
Tell us about yourself
I am a lifelong arts advocate and who sees music as therapy. My vision is that students of Allegro become happier, healthier, more successful resilient people through music. I am motivated each day to find new ways to unlock the potential of each student and create new opportunities for each student through music.
For example, we partner with the Royal Schools of Music to offer their prestigious exam program, which can lead to college scholarships. We also have a recording studio on site, and students can audition to make a professional recording and be a part of the Allegro Young Artists Album.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is creating positive ripples in the lives of each student through music that leads them to successful and rewarding lives overall. My hope is they will share their gift of music in times of celebration and also comfort others.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is keeping all the plates spinning all the time. It's a worthwhile endeavor with many challenges and obstacles to overcome.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top three tips for anyone looking to start, run or grow a business are:
- Find a mentor/coach in your industry.
- Get educated on how to market your business.
- Make sure your business model is rock solid.
