What's your business, and who are your customers?
We finance, train, and help low-income people get their first job in IT as Jr. Software Developers. Our customers are people from underserved neighborhoods in Brazil. We give them 250 USD monthly if they complete our modules and projects in our 6-month digital boot camp. When they get a job in IT, they will pay us 17% of their gross salary until they reach 4900 USD.
Tell us about yourself
I came from a working-class family and know how difficult it is to have no resources. With a lot of effort, I achieved a Law Degree, but soon I realized that technological careers were opening more doors and earning more money than tradicional professions, and you can learn them in 1 or 2 years to start making money. So my mom worked 30+ years as a social worker, so I've been involved since I was a child with frustration, impotence, and lack of opportunities for amazing talents. I see now more clearly than ever the opportunity we have to eradicate cycles of poverty by getting an education in IT.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We built a team super motivated with our mission. We changed lives.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The most difficult thing is to deal with uncertainty all the time
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
