What's your business, and who are your customers?
Goose’s FarmHouse - GFH Designs & Events. We are a boutique event design and production company in San Francisco - Bay Area, CA! Our services include full-service wedding planning, rentals, day-of coordination, floral & decor design, tabletop & garden design, themed events, and party styling, catering, and our own venue in Hayward, which includes furniture and chefs.
We also have a retail store here in Stockton where you can find pampering items such as handmade candles, bath salts, and reed diffusers, often used as party favors.
Tell us about yourself
Hi, I’m Alexandra. I started my company in 2020, although I have been doing this for so long on a smaller scale ( friends and family ). My motivation comes from my desire to make people’s life more enjoyable. The day of your wedding shouldn’t be a stressful one; it should be pleasant because that’s one time in life event. People need a break from everyday life and celebrate love and commitment to one another. Offering the complete package for an affordable price is my goal.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I start everything from scratch by myself, not knowing anyone, having no connections, with a very low budget making everything worth the hassle.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Saying ‘’No’’! It is not an easy thing to say, but I need to do what’s right for my business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Research your niche.
- Focus on your business plan.
- Be humble.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
At GFH Designs & Events, we work with your budget, offering recommendations on how to save money for the event. We offer custom designs; we have a large selection of vendors that we collaborate with - Mexican food, Chinese food, Colombian food, American Food, Italian food, Greek food, and other European. There is also a large range of DJ’s that we have on our file. We are not a standard wedding planner; we focus on creating unique moments!
