Tell us about yourself

Emigrated to Canada from the UK as a teen, I completed a co-op in high school for students with learning challenges. Prior to graduating, I was hired at a Child Therapy Clinic to engage with children while their parents were in Therapy. The Social Workers would share some of the strategies they used & I thought, "I can do that" I also met two friends who lived in group homes. At the time, I thought it was interesting that you could live away from home if you have issues with your parents. I started my career as a Child Youth Counsellor working in residential treatment, day treatment for students who have learning & behavioural challenges, mobile crisis & Adolescent Psychiatry. I have taught Trauma & Intervention at a Community College. I am a certified Parent Educator, Restorative Justice Mediator, Registered Psychotherapist.
