Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Aimee Huffman, a Health Coach & Yoga Therapist based in Austin, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help high achievers develop mental strength and stamina to heal holistically, manage their anxiety and mental health conditions, and optimize overall health and performance - to thrive in all aspects of life. I serve a wide range of high-performing clients, including entrepreneurs, c-suite executives, collegiate athletes, professional competitors, and goal-focused individuals with big dreams and aggressive goals.

Tell us about yourself

For as long as I can remember, I've loved to coach others on how to feel powerful - in career, sport, and in life. I played volleyball at the University of Iowa and will always consider myself a lifelong athlete. After a successful competitive career and several life-changing injuries which led me to holistic training methods like yoga, functional movement, and mindfulness, I decided to devote my life to helping other high performers reach the top of their game. Now I coach executive leaders, career-driven individuals, and competitive athletes on how to regain strength, recondition the mind and reclaim innate power so that they can realize their dreams, achieve aggressive performance goals and live their healthiest, most joyful life.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Witnessing my clients unlock deeper layers of confidence and inner authority they didn't have before. I've helped individuals go from underperforming to playing at the highest level yet from insecure and overweight to confident and feeling like themselves again, from emotionally unstable and anxious to grounded with thriving interpersonal relationships. These transformations breathe life into my business every day and affirm the hard work of being a solopreneur is 100% worth it.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Wearing multiple hats and playing "jack of all trades." Being a successful business owner requires a certain level of adaptability, discipline, and tenacity - and that requires consistent practice!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Immerse yourself in a community of peers and mentorship.
  2. Prioritize your mental health and ask for help when you need it.
  3. Remember your big WHY and return to it often.
