Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nabil Bouassaba, Founder and CEO of Ai 4 Emotional Intelligence, located in Simpsonville, SC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Ai 4 Emotional Intelligence is a software that assists individuals in leadership roles and teams in learning and applying emotional intelligence and leadership skills in the real world. Our clients are solo coaches, coaching companies, organizations, and individuals that want to enhance their careers.

Tell us about yourself

My happiness has always come from being able to contribute to the success of others and witness their growth. When I was the international director of an Australian e-learning company, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative power of empowering students all over the world by providing them with equal opportunities to access education of the highest possible quality. That objective could not have been accomplished without the assistance of modern technology.

When I transitioned into the coaching industry, I brought the same mentality with me. I believed that I would be able to add value by offering interactive solutions that were supported by cutting-edge technology in order to assist coaches in recognizing behavioral patterns and making informed decisions. What motivates me every day is helping make knowledge and EI to everyone, anytime, anywhere.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Transform a bold idea into an innovative solution that combines science, human factors, and technology.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I've always held the firm belief that if I don't take risks myself, I'll end up working for someone else who does. Every choice I made as a business owner, regardless of how simple or difficult that choice was, carried with it the possibility of failure. It is much more difficult to cope with that sensation when you are responsible for managing people and assets.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. They need to define their clear values and the reason why they want to start a business, and then they need to visualize themselves celebrating the outcome as successful leaders in the long run. There should never be any connection made between the value and the financial goals. It is essential to consider the contribution that the company is making to the community in terms of the value it creates.
  2. They should never try to wear too many hats at once. Employing professionals will bring more originality and creativity to the table. In order for leaders to effectively orchestrate their teams' efforts, they need to have a baseline level of cognitive knowledge. They do not necessarily need to have reached the level of mastery required in every field associated with their businesses.
  3. A carefully crafted plan that does not overlook any details will result in fewer mistakes and increased productivity.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
