Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kolby Granville, Editor-in-chief of After Dinner Conversation, located in Tempe, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We run a monthly literary magazine that publishes short stories that ask ethical and philosophical questions.

Tell us about yourself

So much of what passes as conversation and discussion in the world today is really just people spouting soundbites they heard from a talk radio show. Our mission is to get people thinking and talking in authentic ways.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Honestly, when running a monthly publication, the biggest accomplishment is month after month, meeting deadlines, and getting an amazing magazine out.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Customer acquisition costs and having the time to automate processes.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If you don't love what you are doing, you should get into a business that nobody is doing. If you are in a business that people love, there will be loads of people you compete against who are willing to do it for free.
