Tell us about yourself

Brad: Before branching off to do my own thing, I most enjoyed projects that allowed me to identify a problem and see a solution from start to finish. As an athlete, I was constantly looking for pain relief, inflammation issues, circulation issues, and muscle soreness, but I was always concerned with the side effects of pharmaceuticals and underwhelmed with CBD patches for pain. I was motivated to create the company not only because I no longer wanted a corporate lifestyle but also because I wanted a product tested for efficacy, safety, and natural healing. I’m not only a founder of this company but also a customer.

Larry: We truly believe in helping people. We continue to see pharmaceuticals used to manage pain, anxiety, insomnia, and mental focus resulting in depression and addiction. There are so many alternative treatments and all-natural products that are not widely known to the general public. We exist to help others.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Brad: It's not easy to create a product that is natural, effective, and affordable - those pillars are nearly impossible to achieve together. With Affix Patch, you can make every day better on your own terms so you can live life with confidence and comfort; being on that cutting edge is incredibly rewarding.

Larry: One of the most humbling things I have experienced was hearing a customer who traditionally relied on prescription or over-the-counter pain solutions tell us they made the transition to our all-natural products and experienced much better results. We truly believe too much of this country is reliant on pain medications when there are alternative and safer solutions available. We are looking to bring access to those solutions to the masses.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Brad: For me, it's the ebbs and flows, ups and downs. When you work for someone, it's easier to take the bad days and just kind of move on, but when you work for yourself, you take those negatives a little more personally.

Larry: Balancing patience and knowing you could be doing so much better is always a consistent challenge as an entrepreneur.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Brad:
1. If you are creating a product, make sure you have passion for that product; otherwise, it will be too easy to give up.

2. Start slow, don’t bite off too much too soon. Build a scalable business step by step instead of chasing an immediate outcome.

3. Don’t quit. This is not easy, and you will fall down more times than you care to know. You have to keep getting back up.

Larry:
1. Know your market.

2. Know your competitive landscape.

3. Know what is missing and how your company can fulfill unmet needs on a large scale.
