Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Becca Edmondson, Founder of Abundantly, BE., located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Abundantly, BE is a mind-body-centered coaching practice where I offer guidance sessions, sound baths & retreats for those seeking energetic, emotional, and physical transformation. My clients are entrepreneurs and innovators who want to become a beacon for abundance in their personal and professional lives. We use coaching, energy work, sound healing & human design as tools for self-exploration. Together, we tackle the habits and stressors that are preventing you from living your most abundant life and align your net worth with your self-worth.

Tell us about yourself

My multi-hyphenate work embodies the modalities that helped heal me after the unexpected loss of my sister, Katie, in 2017. Disconnected from myself, my body, and my purpose, the loss of her left me numb and 30 pounds heavier. My perspective of the world around me had changed, and I had no idea how to handle it. Paralyzed in my apartment, insomnia, cortisol spikes, and adrenal fatigue from my grief had turned me into an inflamed zombie. Unhealthy and unwilling to go back to my old life. I realized that I had been content but never truly happy. My grieving heart knew there was something bigger and more meaningful out there in life for me, and I had to follow it. But, I couldn't do it without breaking the habits that were breaking me. So I had to get curious about something I had never studied, me as a human being.

I left LA, my friends, my rooftop pool overlooking the city, and my cushy six-figure marketing job to learn how to help people live a more holistic lifestyle. I committed to my own healing process fully. I studied Integrative Nutrition and the anxious brain from my grandmother's beach house along the Florida coast while learning to be a coach. I explored energy healing and sound therapy as ways to regulate my central nervous system and shift my frequency. I survived off of savings and freelance work. I developed a deep respect and love for nature and completely reconnected with myself through its medicine, body, mind, and soul. I returned to LA a whole, healthy person and began my work as a Certified Holistic Health & Mindset Coach. Certifications as a Reiki Energy Healer, Human Design Guide, and Sound Medicine Practitioner quickly followed. My background in brand storytelling gave me a solid foundation to launch and share my business and attract clients quickly.

The peace and love I have for myself and my life after loss today motivate me to help others overcome their obstacles. Because each of us has a Katie, we all have something we are holding onto in our body, heart, or mind that we don't know what to do with. So I coach and heal people looking for support in their most intimate relationship. Whether you want to sleep more soundly, lose weight, build your dream business, or call in your dream relationship, living abundantly comes down to one thing. Having a powerful relationship with yourself can change every relationship in your life.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I turned the family beach house where my healing journey began into a space for well-being retreats. My first "BEtreat" launched last fall. I hosted 6 awesome humans for a cell to soul-nourishing 4-day stay in our waterfront beach home. We offered private chef-prepared food, daily movement, meditation, transformational coaching workshops, one-on-one healing sessions, and lots of free time to enjoy the sand and sun along the Gulf of Mexico.

Seeing people connect to themselves and each other through the experience my team and I created made my heart so full. I can't wait for the next one in October 2022.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I created a small group coaching collective called, The BEacon for fellow women entrepreneurs in the wellness space last year. Coaching them has been so fulfilling because it touches on the hardest part of being a business for yourself. It starts as a solo journey. So much so that I refer to us as "solopreneurs." You are the CEO, the CMO, the CFO, the assistant, etc. Yes, one day, you'll go from entrepreneur to empire, but in the beginning, it starts with you.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Trust your intuition and follow your heart, not your head.
  2. Have your human design read so you can understand and feel confident in your strengths & weaknesses, how you make decisions, your ideal work environments, structures, partners, and your role in this life.
  3. Tell everyone about your business and then listen, listen, listen and listen some more.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Your business is a reflection of your energy, so love it, appreciate it, nurture it and talk to it like your very best friend.
