What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm an integrative health practitioner that specializes in chronic illnesses like mold toxicity and Lyme disease. I opened my practice in 2015 and have been helping families recover since.

Tell us about yourself

Becoming diagnosed with Lyme disease and several other conditions after years of being ill led me to want to help others so that they didn't have to have as hard of a time as I did in searching for answers. Every morning I look at my son, and that's all I need for motivation - his silly self drives me to do my best and model to him the values of life that I hope he can emulate as he grows. I want to leave a legacy and story for him to always remember that he can do and is capable of doing anything he wants to do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Anytime a client tells me their labs are negative or their diagnosis was dropped by their doctors, I cry. But one accomplishment I did not expect was when others began asking me for help mentoring them in business. I realized that I had unintentionally built something that others were watching and wanting to emulate. That made me feel a wave of gratitude.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing for me as a business owner comes with overthinking the way I am showing up and putting content out into the world. It's easy to compare yourself to others, and I've struggled with this piece in particular.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Clarity, clarity, clarity. If anything feels unclear, hold off. Wait for the clarity to come.
  2. Always invest in yourself and your growth - if you don't grow, your business won't.
  3. Get a business coach - they'll keep you focused and moving forward and save you so much time and energy.
