What's your business, and who are your customers?
Living with Type 1 Diabetes, I coach midlife women with diabetes to shift all that is blocking them from creating change and reaching their A1C goals.
Tell us about yourself
I decided, after 20+ years of 9–5 corporate stress, to leave and study a holistic approach to better manage my diabetes and coach others.
I am a wife and mom, and I've survived diabetic retinopathy, menopause, an empty nest, and life's curve balls, and I've run two thriving businesses, all while reaching my own health goals.
Now a certified health coach and personal trainer, I’ve spent the last 6 years helping busy women like you overcome obstacles with diabetes and avoid health complications.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am sharing my experience living with type 1 diabetes to help other women better manage blood sugar and feel amazing instead of overwhelmed with diabetes.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staying on track with daily tasks, marketing, and creating content.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Look for a mentor to help guide you and save you time and money as you grow your business.
- Stay connected with a support group of other business owners who understand.
- Celebrate all the small steps that will eventually pay off and keep you engaged.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Beach walks, and a smooth glass of wine at sunset with anything chocolate helps to balance me out… And yes, we can still enjoy desserts. I spend my downtime with my husband, David, our church family, daughter Sarah, and our energetic dog Kona.
We love defying what diabetics are discouraged from. We travel and stay very active.
My unique approach helps women discover real food and lifestyle practices they can sustain to enjoy this stage of life while emptying their bucket lists.
