What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a physical therapy practice that specializes in pelvic health and the treatment of Pelvic muscle dysfunction. I have also created a pelvic serum infused with CBD to help alleviate pelvic pain with intercourse. The Serum is called Silkx Society Pelvic Serum.
Tell us about yourself
I have a doctorate in physical therapy, and it has become my passion to treat women and men with pelvic muscle disorders. Pelvic muscle dysfunction can present as urinary incontinence, Fecal incontinence or constipation and sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain, and pain with penetrative intercourse. Helping people overcome these disorders and achieve full function is what motivates me every day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I opened my specialized physical therapy practice in 2017 and have grown to 4 physical therapists and the creation of a product to help people with pelvic pain.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As physical therapists, we are trained in physical therapy, not a business. Understanding how to run a successful business and medical practice has been very challenging over the years, and each day I continue to learn.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Know your field, understand business, and know that you can't do both. You can't work in your business and on your business. Hire excellent staff that can work with you. People that understand your goals and mission to have the best outcome.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
We are located in Atlanta, GA, and treat all people that experience pelvic muscle dysfunction. People often do not know they have symptoms that can be treated and helped.
