Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Aaron Posey, owner of The Joint Vegan Street Food, located in Colorado Springs, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own The Joint Vegan Street Food, a food truck turned chef-driven pop-up concept. We serve everyone. That's one of the great things about vegan food. It's accessible to almost everyone.

Tell us about yourself

I got lucky. I had an opportunity to share something I love with the community, and they showed up. They've allowed me to make mistakes, and they've helped me grow professionally and personally. Because of that, it's important to me to be a good steward of the values that brought us together.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Earning the respect of people I admire.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Setting personal boundaries and taking time for yourself and maintaining personal relationships.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
  2. Show the people who support you that you care.
  3. Don't listen to the people who don't.
