Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jimmy Dimitrov, Co-Owner of Sweven Coffee, located in Bristol, England.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are Sweven Coffee, and we source, roast, and communicate some of the world's most fascinating coffees. We are a community hub café as well as being a destination café. Often people would travel a long way to come and find us or just grab an amazing cup of coffee on the way to work or with the kids on the way to school. We love our customers, and we do our best to put smiles on their faces every day.

Tell us about yourself

Myself and my wife Aga have been involved in coffee since we have known each other for maybe over a decade! I managed an SCA Coffee Education Campus and did quality control and sourcing for a big local coffee company.

Aga worked as a Head of Coffee for a large-sized coffee chain based in the South West. The endless love for coffee and hospitality led us to open Sweven and realize our dream, be in full control of what we do, and, most importantly, do it in the way we feel is right for ourselves, our team, and our customers.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

That we managed to survive during the pandemic. The fact that we are opening a coffee Roastery very soon a stones throw away from the café!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Employing the right people and making sure that your business model is sustainable and responsible.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Think ahead, be passionate about what you are doing, be a good leader!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We hope to see you soon in our café here in Bedminster.
