What's your business, and who are your customers?
A&B Candles is a small women-owned business run on part-time energy in the midst of living two full-time lives! Our candle line is inspired by bringing the aromas of Colorado’s many experiences to EVERYONE who lights a flame to our work.
Tell us about yourself
The fun of candle-making began as a grown-up “play date” while our oldest daughters laughed in the next room. The excitement of creativity, then and now, turned the hobby into a business and continues to keep the company growing. We started with 12 varieties and now have over 35!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest accomplishment as a business owner is growing our brand as one to be recognized and sought after, amongst the stores carrying our product and within the craft fair community.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest things that come with being a business owner are maintaining current levels of loyal customers and reaching new customers on part-time availability.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Talk about your ideas to different people to gain an unbiased perspective and potential inspirations.
- Bite off manageable “bites” at a time to keep positive and maintain energy.
- Include friends and family in as ways possible the support system keeps your motivation up, up, up!
