Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rob Meyer-Kukan, owner of 7 Notes Natural Health, located in Ann Arbor, MI, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is 7 Notes Natural Health, and my client is someone who sees themselves as navigating this journey with an eye toward being whole. Not perfect, not there yet, but on the journey. Our mission at 7 Notes Natural Health is to help you hear, see, and feel true wellness. We do that by way of sound and massage therapy, meditation, reflexology, natural health, and more!
Tell us about yourself
I first got started doing what I do because I wanted to help others in a meaningful way different from the other options out there. I believe in all-natural solutions, and I am passionate about helping others. I am deeply motivated by seeing the difference our work makes in my clients' lives.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Safely staying open and expanding our business in the midst of the pandemic. In December 2021, we expanded our facility and offerings when many others were shutting down or struggling to stay open.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Handing off the work that is not my area of expertise and investing in allowing someone else who is passionate about those things to do them for me.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Communicate. Communication is key to s successful business.
- Show Up. Show up for your clients, show up for yourself, show up for your business. Have a slow week? Use that time to network or accomplish tasks you don't otherwise have time to do.
- Handoff the tasks that aren't your expertise and passion. Don't have a knack for crunching numbers? Hire an accountant. Don't love social media or websites? Hire a designer, webmaster, or social media assistant. Invest your time and effort in the work that inspires you, where you are trained, and what you are good at.
