Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in jewelry but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kasia Kash, owner of 401Gold, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is buying and selling gold but to the 'everyday' person. With transparency, customers will be able to see how much they and their gold are worth, as well as be brought aware of their wealth.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a driven injustice queen because if I see something wrong, I will do what I can to fix it at that moment. When opening 401Gold, despite the challenge of the upkeep, I do enjoy interacting with the customers and hearing their stories of what brings them to my shop. Especially those of the marginalized communities (ex. women, the LGBT communities, minorities, etc.), she wishes for her customers to gain authority and empowerment through transparency.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Since becoming a business owner, I really enjoy helping others, and because I interact with them every day, I feel accomplished every day.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Everything starts and ends with you, so you really need to be focused and 'in the game.'

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be kind to yourself.
  2. Always have back-ups.
  3. Consistency means key.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I built myself up from bankruptcy and divorce. If I can do it, anyone can.
