What's your business, and who are your customers?
12 Twenty Two Candle Co. is all about creating scents that bring back memories and for the use of self-care. Our target customers are candle lovers and lovers of home fragrances looking to relax after a hard day of work or just the struggles we are facing in a pandemic today.
Tell us about yourself
In 2020 during the height of the pandemic, I miscarried my first pregnancy, and so I fell into a deep depression. I always thought of myself to be crafty, so candle-making became my stress reliever. Working on the frontlines and dealing with my own life encouraged me to start my small business. I'm motivated today by my struggles and where I would like to see 12 Twenty Two Candle Co. in the next 5 years.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Only being in business for 3 months now, I'm proud of the support and feedback I Have received. My biggest accomplishment is receiving bulk orders for our candles from returning customers.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about business is I'm a one-woman show. I hand out my candles in small batches to create the best candles to sell to my customers. I'm the creative, PR, and face behind 12 Twenty Two Candle Co.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Just start. Don't waste another day because time is so precious. Reach for the moon; if you fail, you will land in the clouds anyway. You can do it. Many people are running the same business, and there is room for your business to prosper. Lastly, believe in yourself and the business that you are creating. The support will come.
